In the summer we always carry extra water in a cooler in the vehicle. (It's kind of tuff carrying two gallons of water on a geotrek into the woods.) I am not sticking my hand into a dark hole or lifting rocks without the stick. In nice weather, I also like to have along a change of shoes.   In one trip, we may end up hiking in the woods and then doing a more urban cache.  So it's usually hiking boots and flip-flops.  Also a towel for those unexpected stream crossings. Without the heavy details (I'll save that for the blog, of course!), I carry a lot of what you do as well as some "repair" things -- some notebooks, pencils and such -- that I can leave if a cache needs it.
